Eminem's Marshall Mathers LP is a masterpiece. I have been listening to it for 12 years, and am just as impressed with the album now as I was when I first heard it. The beats are amazing, the lyrics are perfection, and his flow is unmatched. The songwriting on this album is top notch - he dives into his childhood memories of being bullied at school, struggling to make friends with other boys because all the girls were after him, being forced to play basketball or football at school against his will yet still excelling in these sports, feeling frustrated by how society was pushing him down every step of the way... pretty much everything in Eminem's life is reflected in his music. Lyrically, Marshall Mathers LP is one of the best albums of all time, and it deserves it's accolades to the fullest. The production on this album is also flawless - Bobby Creekwater, but mostly Dr. Dre, just knocked it out of the park with every beat they made for Marshall Mathers LP. As far as songwriting I would have to say that Eminem's flow on tracks like 'Just Lose It' and 'The Way I Am' is pretty much un-beatable in my book. You can't be a rapper these days without rapping over beats produced by Dr. Dre. Ever since Eminem came out with The Marshall Mathers LP in 2000, a majority of MC's in the industry have been trying to copy Eminem's flow and his lyrics. I feel like I'm the only one who isn't complaining about this. :) If you decide to go song per song on this album, you will be blown away at the amount of raw talent it contains. Every single track, no matter how small of a role it plays in the album as a whole, is 100% amazing. Of course I would have to say my favorites are probably 'Cold Wind Blows' and 'The Real Slim Shady.' Nothing will ever beat the classic Eminem flow, but the flow on these two tracks is still pretty awesome... "Shady Records" (also known as "Shady") is an American record label founded in 1999 by rapper Eminem, who serves as its president. Shady Records has signed only one act in its three-year history: rapper 50 Cent. The label's name was chosen by Eminem because it sounded like a final name (a record label could end up "shady"). As a result of the success of its acts, Shady Records has been able to go on and sign various artists including Yelawolf, Stat Quo, Bobby Creekwater and Cashis. In December 2010, Eminem announced his signing of Yelawolf from his Shady Records imprint. In 2014, Eminem announced the signing of Brooklyn rapper Bobby Creekwater. In 2001, D12 joined Shady Records by 1999 after they were introduced to Eminem by Proof. After first being turned down by Dr. cfa1e77820
