It tells a story about the early days of creation when God created man from clay and breathed into his nostrils the soul that made him alive. The tradition dates back to 16 century, but it has its origin in the pre -Islamic period when Prophet Muhammad was asked by his wife Khadija to tell her what he remembered from their marriage night before she left for her Mehrab's house after she had washed off his sweat from them both. In the very beginning time, Earth was a watery mass. All of a sudden, a giant bull emerged from under the ground. It swam across the waters and came to a standstill on the mountain surface. Thanks to its four legs, it kept its balance and rose so high that it touched the sky with his head. The bull commenced rubbing itself against what is now known as mountains, rocks and hills until they got worn away and became small pieces of clay that he stepped on with his forelegs. The bull moved one leg forward after another until he had trodden upon most of Earth's surface. As a result, the Earth was dissolved into mud. The bull then came to a standstill and got itself stuck in the mud and loam. Having loosed all its power and strength, the bull started melting and merging with the ground until it had disappeared completely. What was left of it were four huge legs standing on earth's surface. Those who call themselves scientists today claim that they have found fossils of such an animal with such legs in different parts of our planet. At the very same time, God created angels out of light, for He wanted some creatures to serve him while he himself was busy creating worlds and creatures. Since angels did not have any material bodies themselves, they were incapable of feeling hot or cold or anything else . They had to remain in constant contact with God so that they could communicate with him through their minds. Since the world was just being created, God ordered His angels to create man. They came down to Earth and began working on man's body . While they were working, the angels found out that they needed clay soil for their work. Angels went to collect clay soil from all over the world, but none of it was suitable for them to use . So one of them decided to go down instead of taking a long time. He found some clay soil on Earth but it happened not to be good enough for them. The angel, wanting to make sure that he had tried everything available on the planet surface, started digging deeper and deeper to find clay soil. He kept going down until he reached a place where there was no light. The angel called out to God for help and to tell him that he couldn't go any lower as it was too dark down there. Suddenly a voice from above told him something about a piece of soil from the other side of the world being suitable for creation of man . The angel obediently went back up and found a particular patch of land on Earth where he scooped up some earth .
